Yesterday we saw an Android One smartphone before its launch day on Flipkart which was accidentally posted on their website though because of that mistake now we have an idea what Android One smartphones would be like and what price they would have. Today was the launch day of Android One, the program will be launched in India first and Google has announced three new Android One smartphones with the help of Indian manufacturers including Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO, and the Karbonn Sparkle V.
All these three Android One smartphones will be running Stock Android Kitkat 4.4 though the specs on all the three Android One smartphones are the same as they all come with a 4.5 inch display that supports a resolution of 480 x 854, MediaTek quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, 5MP camera on the back while a 2MP camera at the front. The storage on all the three Android One smartphones is low though which is 4GB but also support micro SD card so that won’t be a problem. All the Android One smartphones also support 3G so Google was right users are going to enjoy the possibilities of what a smartphone can do in an affordable price with Stock Google Android.
Right now three Indian websites are selling these Android One smartphones online including
Amazon India, Flipkart and Snapdeal with a retail price of $100 off contract. This is a good start by Google to help those needy people who can’t afford a smartphone, but what about the Nexus program. Google hasn’t commented anything about ending it or continuing it because of which Nexus fans are worried. Maybe we will see a new Nexus device this year and if yes, then it would be the last Nexus smartphone that Google launches.
