HTC Desire 516 is an affordable smartphone that was first seen in China upon its launch but now HTC has also planned it to launch it for Europe. HTC Desire 516 is one of the entry level smartphones from HTC and will go on against the affordable smartphone that Motorola came out with called the Moto G.

HTC Desire 516 has a 5 inch screen that supports a resolution of 540 x 960, Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage with SD card expansion slot, 5MP camera on the back while a 2MP camera on the front. What’s disappointing about the Desire 516 is that it will be running Android Jelly bean instead of Kitkat, considering the fact that it’s going to compete against Moto G that is running the latest Android Kitkat. The smartphone is also expensive than Motorola G, as HTC Desire 515 costs around $270 while the Moto G costs $170.

By comparing the two smartphones side by side Moto G is better in every way as it costs less offers a better 720P screen and a better processing solution as the Moto G is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. We don’t know what the goal of HTC is here as they are including it in the line of affordable smartphones yet the company has priced it higher than the affordable smartphones already available in the market with better specs and lower prices.

Maybe the prices will gradually decrease after the launch of the device because if that doesn’t happen user are going to prefer other options over HTC or maybe the company might offer something extra with it. Except China the smartphone is going to be available in India, Switzerland and Australia though availability in other markets is still unknown.
