Samsung announced two new smartphones yesterday at IFA including the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge but that was not it as Samsung today announced a new tablet known as Samsung Galaxy Tab Active which is designed for business use rather than normal usage but we are sure that won’t stop people out there from getting their hands on one.

Till now only the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S5 Active were water and dust resistant but now a tablet has joined the line as well and comes with IP-56 certification. The tablet has a rugged look to it much like the Galaxy S5 Active and is also covered with anti-shock covering that can even withstand a drop from 1.2 meters. Other than that the users of Galaxy Tab Active won’t have to worry about taking care of the tablet as the tablet probably won’t get scratched or bent that easily because of the rugged material used in the manufacturing of the tablet.

Other than that the tablet is equipped with an 8 inch TFT display that supports a resolution of 800 x 1200, quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with SD card expansion slot, 3.1MP camera on the back while a 1.2MP camera at its front and to power it all a 4,400mAh battery. The tablet will also be running Android Kitkat 4.4 out of the box.

Samsung didn’t announce anything about the cost of the tablet or when they have plans to launch it into the market but it should probably be with the launch of their Note smartphones. What do you think about the new tablet, did you always wanted a rugged tablet with IP certification lets us know. This is all for now as soon as something comes up we will update you guys.
