According to Android Police Motorola might be working on a new Nexus device alongside their Motorola Moto X+1 and will launch it later this summer. There has been a lot of rumors regarding Nexus that Google had plans to end their Nexus line of smartphones with the starting of another project called Android Silver but Google refused those suggestions.
The Nexus device that Motorola is reportedly been working on codenamed Shamu has a 5.9 inch display and will also be equipped with a finger print sensor though these were the only details that were revealed. We were pretty sure Google was going to end their Nexus line of smartphones but then rumors started appearing about a Nexus tablet that HTC is said to be working on known as Volantis.
Looks like LG is out of the job for making Nexus phones as according to the company they don’t have any information about what Google plans are for their next smartphone. Android Police ranked the rumor regarding this Motorola made Nexus device 6.5 out of 10 suggesting how true the rumor is. According to Android Police ‘’ Points are deducted simply because hardware plans can change very quickly, even when a prototype device already exists. We are confident that Shamu is a real device under active development, and fairly confident that it is a contender for the Nexus program’’.
Android Police also said that it’s not necessary that the Nexus device will be launched later this summer but Motorola is working on one and it will be targeted towards US including major carriers and some other carriers around the world. We also recently saw leaked images of Motorola Moto X+1 though there was not much to it except that the phones is made out of metal with a wooden back.
This year is going to be full of surprises as a lot of major smartphone manufacturers are going to come up with their flagship smartphones later this summer.
