NVIDIA Shied tablet is finally here and is designed for gamers. The tablet packs all the hardware that is needed to play games without any problems and also comes with software that is designed keeping gamers in mind. The tablet will run Android Kitkat so it offers both the experience of a tablet and a gaming device. NVIDIA Shied tablet also comes with its own accessories including a controller and a case that works both as a protector and a stand.
Nvidia Shied tablet is 9.2mm thick and is equipped with an 8 inch display that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 while also has speaker at both the ends of the screen just like the ones found on HTC ONE line of smartphones so users should expect some great audio quality. The tablet also comes with a stylus called NVIDIA DirectStylus 2 and would be used with the drawing applications that the tablet offers as well as taking notes.
Under the hood NVIDIA Shied tablet comes with NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor that has a Cortex-A15 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz couple with a 192-core Kepler GPU. The processor would be enough to run all types of future games and has a support for DirectX12, Unreal Engine 4 and OpenGL 4.4. There is a 5MP camera on both the front and back with auto focus and will come in both 16 and 32 GB versions. There would also be a Wi-Fi only version and a Wi-Fi + LTE version while both the versions will support micro SD card slots so storage won’t be an issue.
There are also some software benefits as users with GTX GPU equipped PC’s can stream their games to their Shied tablets and can also record their gameplay with NVIDIA ShadowPlay while Trine 2: Complete Story is preloaded on the tablet that will show you how well the tablet can perform. The controller will be sold separately while the stylus can be used to paint and take notes.
User can preorder the NVIDIA Shied tablet for now for $299 while the Wi-Fi + LTE 32GB version will be available later on for $399 while the controller and the cover will be sold for $59 and $ 39 respectively.
