As social apps on a smartphone are growing day by day more and more users are adapting to it and what’s common about all these users is that they all like to take selfies. Smartphones nowadays are coming up with better front facing cameras so that users can take good quality self-portraits as it’s not easy to take a selfie while using the back camera. A lot of companies have upgraded their front facing camera with some to over 8MP and HTC with 5MP on their HTC ONE M8.

Sony just announced their Sony Xperia C3 smartphone that is designed for people who likes to take selfies on their smartphones. It’s the first time Sony is going to increase the megapixels on their front facing camera as they have equipped their Xperia C3 with a 5MP front camera with flash.

The smartphone is equipped with a 5.5 inch display that supports a resolution of 720P, Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with Andreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage with SD card slot, 8MP camera on the back while a 5MP camera at the front and to power it all a 2400mAh battery. As Xperia C3 is a selfie smartphone Sony has added a lot of camera features to it like Portrait Retouch v2, Superior Auto, Picture effects, Movie Creator, Sweep Panorama, Tim-shift burst mode and a dedicated feature for Vine that lets users record 6 seconds of video.

There is also a Dual Sim version of Sony Xperia C3 while both of them will be running Android Kitkat 4.4 out of the box. The smartphone will be globally available starting August 2014 and China would be the first to get it, though Sony didn’t mention the retail price of the device.
