The debate about whether Google is going to launch a new Nexus device this year is still going but what if there is going to be a new Nexus smartphone this year. What if there was a new Nexus smartphone well according to GFXBench application there is one and it’s going to be named as Nexus 5 2014 instead of Nexus 6.
What’s more surprising about the benchmark is the version of Android that the new Nexus smartphone is using which is named as Android 5.0 Lion. It does make sense though as Google have already partnered with Nestle to come up with Android Kitkat 4.4 then why not do the same thing again and name the next Android after a sweet treat owned by Nestle named Lion. We have also been hearing other type of names as well for the next Android version known as Android Lollipop and Lemon Meringue Pie.
What’s even more amazing are the specs that GFXBench is showing for the next Nexus 5 device as the smartphone is said to have 5.2 inch display that will support a resolution of 1440 x 2560-pixel, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz coupled with Andreno 420GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, 12MP camera on the back while a 2MP camera at the front and will be running Android lion 5.0 out of the box.
As the next version of Android will be running on 64-bit architecture so it makes sense that Google with use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. If a Nexus device did came out with all these specs and an affordable price, everyone is going to go for it as Nexus smartphones are always affordable with great specs.
What do you thing about the new Nexus 5 2014, will you get one if Google launched one?
