Xiaomi a Chinese company also known as the Apple of China just unveiled their 2014 flagship smartphone called Xiaomi Mi4. Judging from the design Xiaomi Mi4 reminds us of the iPhone 5 or 5s as the smartphone maintains a slim profile with premium build looks and chamfered edges.
Xiaomi Mi4 is equipped with a 5 inch laminated display that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and 3GB of RAM. According to Xiaomi their Mi4 is currently the fastest smartphone in the world though we have to wait till the official benchmarks arrive to see if that’s true.
Xiaomi Mi4 also comes with a 13MP camera on its back with an aperture of f/1.8 and a Sony IMX214 sensor with a support for shooting 4k video. At the front of the screen there is an 8MP camera with an aperture of f/1.8 as well which will ensure that users get great quality selfie pictures with 80 degrees wide angle lens. Xiaomi Mi4 comes in two version a 16GB version and a 64GB version though there is no SD card slot available on the phone but supports the fastest storage as its eMMC 5.0 and to power it all a 3080mAh battery. According to the company the battery on the smartphone would work for a day and a half and would charge faster as well around 60 percent in an hour.
Xiaomi Mi4 will be running MIUI 6.5 UI on top of Android Kitkat. The 16GB version will cost $320 while the 64GB version will cost $400 though these are Chinese prices and prices abroad would vary depending on where you are. The phone will be launched for Chinese market in July and August though in September Xiaomi will expand its market beyond China to other countries as well.
